Blake Allwood was born in west TN, then moved to Kansas City MO after attending college in Iowa. He met his husband in 1995 and they officially married in 2015, once the United States legalized gay marriage.
In 2017, he and his husband sold their home, purchased an RV and began traveling the country with their two dogs. Their travels provide the inspiration and settings for many of his novels.
Typically, Blake can be found writing in the RV or by the fire with his laptop and their Jack Russell Terrier, Buddy, curled up between his legs or demanding his attention. Denver, their Siberian Husky mix is often asleep at his feet or playing tug of war with Blake’s husband.

Anne Barwell lives in Wellington, New Zealand. She shares her home with Kaylee: a cat with “tortitude” who is convinced that the house is run to suit her. To date it appears Kaylee may be winning the discussion. The tall trees and murky forests of the Pac NW feed my imagination. Kerrie love vampires, werewolves, and all things paranormal. While I studied criminal justice I became inspired to write suspense romance. That didn't last long though, I found my footing in paranormal romance, and urban fantasy when I attended a writing workshop with one of my favorite authors. Sharon Buchbinder got into a lot of trouble for when she was a child for "making things up." Now, she gets rewarded for making things up. Sharon loves to create heroes and heroines people can relate to—even crazy cat ladies, as she did with Catastrophe, her first publication with The Wild Rose Press (WRP). She's been submitting fiction since she was in middle school and has the rejection slips to prove it. In high school, she even submitted a script to The Man from U.N.C.L.E. written in pencil on yellow-lined paper. Sadly, it was rejected. After working in health care delivery for years, she became a researcher, then a professor and department chair. But that itch to write the stories that raced around in her mind kept beckoning her to "come on back" to writing fiction. Since romance has over a dozen sub-genres, she was able to turn her fascination with horror and mystery into paranormal romance and romantic suspense. Bill Bush grew up in Yates Center, Kansas, and is a graduate of Yates Center High School and Tabor College, where he earned a Master's degree in Accounting. He is a CPA and runner as well as a writer, is author of several collections of short stories, and has written a column in the Harvey County Independent since April, 2013.
His desire to write comes from his mom, Phyllis Roth Lewis, who was a published author and wrote numerous short stories, poems, and books.
He took a step toward becoming a full-time fiction author in 2018 by joining Kansas Publishing Venture as a newspaper reporter. Now he writes nonfiction during the day and fiction at night.

Jamie Fessenden set out to be a writer in junior high school. He published a couple short pieces in his high school's literary magazine and had another story place in the top 100 in a national contest, but it wasn't until he met his partner, Erich, almost twenty years later, that he began writing again in earnest. With Erich alternately inspiring and goading him, Jamie wrote several screenplays and directed a few of them as micro-budget independent films. He then began writing novels and published his first novella in 2010.
After nine years together, Jamie and Erich have married and purchased a house together in the wilds of Raymond, New Hampshire, where there are no street lights, turkeys and deer wander through their yard, and coyotes serenade them on a nightly basis. Rhys Ford
Rhys Ford was born and raised in Hawai'i, then wandered off to see the world. After chewing through a pile of books, a lot of odd food, and a stray boyfriend or two, Rhys eventually landed in San Diego, which is a very nice place but seriously needs more rain.
Rhys admits to sharing the house with three cats of varying degrees of black fur and a ginger cairn terrorist. Rhys is also enslaved to the upkeep a 1979 Pontiac Firebird, a Toshiba laptop, and an overworked red coffee maker.

The supernatural always had the allure of forbidden fruit ever since my mother refused to allow me, as a boy, to watch creature features on late-night TV. She caved-in. (Well, not literally.)
As a child, fresh snow provided the opportunity to walk out onto neighbors' lawns halfway and make paw prints with my fingers as far as I could stretch. I would retrace the paw and boot prints, then fetch the neighbor kids and point out that someone turned into a werewolf on this lawn! (They were skeptical.)
I have pursued many interests over the years, but the supernatural always called to me. You could say I was haunted. Finally, following the siren's call, I began writing Eidola Project Series, about 19th century ghost hunters who become ensnared in deadly investigations of the supernatural. There are three novels so far in the series: The Eidola Project, Moonlight Becomes You, and Totem of Terror. Each of them have won awards, and the entire Eidola Project Series just won first place in the Paranormal Romance Guild's Reviewer's Choice Awards.
I also write stories for the Friday the 13th collection of weird and frightening tales. Witch Ever Way You Go was his first. It is set in 2015 Seattle and is about a murderous coven of modern witches. The Devil Sheds a Tear is a sequel but can be read on its own. These stories are available from Amazon & Kindle Unlimited.

I write from the world around me, and the world around me is full of color.

If you're looking for comedy, fantasy, or dead bodies in your romances (sometimes all three at once!), I'm your gal. I'm also a. . . gasp!. . . extroverted writer. It seems counterintuitive that as someone who is energized by people, I spend most of my time alone. Yet, that's the case. And I don't mind.
Mostly.
If I get writer's block or start to go a little stir crazy, I head out to a coffee shop, a restaurant, a friend's place--anywhere to fill up my need for human contact. It also helps that I spend a lot of time with the voices in my head. Some of them are really quite opinionated.
I love writing gay romance because I'm a sap for a happy ending, and I believe everyone—regardless of orientation—should be able to find books that have them. And if that romance comes with a dash of mischief, magic, or murder, all the better.
I believe that life is for living, kindness is contagious, and a good book makes the world a better place.

I have been a licensed counselor for almost 20 years; I have spoken at numerous international conferences on psychopaths and narcissists, and written books related to counseling. The material for this series, The Mysterious Secret Guardians, was pulled from my hard-earned knowledge and experience. I enjoy research, a skill I leaned on heavily in crafting my books. H. L. Moore is a Australian writer of LGBT+ fiction. She holds a Master of Arts in International Relations (2015) and a Bachelor of Media in Communications and Journalism (2012), both from the University of New South Wales.
She is a Jewish lesbian of Middle Eastern (Egyptian) heritage. She has been writing stories since she was old enough to hold a pen. Her biggest literary influences are Adrian Tchaikovsky, Brandon Sanderson, and C. S. Pacat.
She is the author of M/M fantasy romance novels Heart Of Dust and Soul Of Ash, Books 1 & 2 of the Death's Embrace series. She has had two short stories published: “The Collector” in the 2014 Future Times Award Collection A Tick Tock Heart, and “Entente” in the 2020 Twisted Stories Award Collection Just Alice.

Linda Palmer (Linda Varner)
Linda Palmer has always had a vivid imagination and loved creating elaborate scenarios when playing with her sisters and friends as a child. She began writing for pleasure in the third grade, mostly poetry, and has letters from her grade school teachers predicting she'd be an author. Her poems eventually became short stories; her short stories became books. And even though a writing career was never actually a dream, it was something she pursued with intent after joining a writer's group. Silhouette Books published Linda's first novel in 1989 and the next twenty over a ten-year period (writing as Linda Varner). In 1999 she took a break to take care of her family, but learned that she couldn't not write and began again, changing her genre to young adult/new adult paranormal romance. She has now written over forty full-length novels as well as numerous novellas and short stories. There are always more in the works.
Linda was a Romance Writers of America finalist twice and won the 2011 and 2012 EPIC eBook awards in the Young Adult category. Let me tell you a little about myself, as that seems to be the main purpose of this profile. Believe it or not, I began my fiction career in the third grade when I told my class that a little sister I never had died of a black widow bite. I also wrote books through my teen years, always about a girl whose mother mistreated her by making her wash dishes, sweep the floor... you get the idea. Never finished any of those stories.
Many years later, a particularly vivid dream drove me to drag out a portable typewriter and go to work on my first novel. In 1990 my second completed book, Tender Touch, brought me a first place win in a writing contest and the following year became a Golden Heart Finalist. I have five romance novels set in the American West, published by Kensington, one, The Scent of Roses, under the pseudonym Rachel Summers.
My books have placed or won other contests and one, Forever Mine, received a Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award nomination. I've always loved the Old West and I believe my novels reflect that emotion through their depth and vividness. These days I am seeing my books re-edited and published as e-books and paperbacks, as well as working on a new story. I hope you try my books and love them.

Mary Patterson Thornburg
Mary (aka Miki) Patterson Thornburg was born in California, grew up in Washington State, moved to Montana when she was eighteen, and spent many years in Indiana, where she studied and then taught at Ball State University. Her dream was always to write fiction, but she didn't get started until she and her husband moved back to Montana. Since then, she's had stories in Cicada, Zahir, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, and Strange, Weird, and Wonderful, among other places. Two of her short stories earned honorable mention in The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror (2006, 2008). "Niam's Tale," in the July/August 2010 Cicada, won the coveted SCBWI 2011 Magazine Merit Honor Certificate. Her first novel, A Glimmer of Guile, was published by Uncial Press in 2014. Her second book for Uncial, The Kura, came out in 2015. She’s had several “Novel Bytes” (novella-length stories) published by Uncial and has self-published several others, along with a few short stories. A collection of fourteen tales, In the Skull Palace and Other Stories, was published in 2021, and a short novel, Luke Blackmon’s Rose, is due to be released by Uncial Press in March 2023.
What kind of fiction does Thornburg write? Well, she’s searched for a way to identify it. Almost always, her stories are a few steps away from the real world. Or sometimes a few miles, or a few parsecs. But only a couple of times has she slid into classic fantasy, and then she quickly slid out again. Her friend the writer D. L. Russell has this to say about her fiction: “Thornburg writes within that zone of interest between excellent speculative fiction and world building, rich in Humanity…” (a testimonial she often rereads to cheer herself up). She used to call her work science-fantasy, but nobody seemed to know what that meant. So now she describes it in the words of her point-of-view character in Luke Blackmon’s Rose: “This is the kind of weird stuff I write about. Not science fiction – I can’t do that, or at least I can’t do it with real science, just with made-up science. Okay, fake science. It’s a kind of tool, I guess. A metaphor. But fantasy, of a sort. I love it and it fascinates me.”
She guesses she’s invented a new genre: Fake science fiction. Almost always with a bit, or more than a bit, of real romance.

LJ Vickery began writing when the muses in her antique farmhouse wouldn’t leave her alone. Enthralled with legends of medieval knights and ladies, dark fairy tales and fantasies about Druids, wizards and magic, Jennifer Ivy Walker always dreamed of becoming a writer. She fell in love with French in junior high school, continuing her study of the language throughout college, eventually becoming a high school teacher and college professor of French.

Eric Allen Westfall
Eric is an American Midwesterner, and as Lady Glenhaven might say, “He’s old enough to have sailed with Noah.” In the real world he writes for a living, with some who would claim what he writes is fiction. His partner of thirty years—who died unexpectedly in 1995—encouraged him to try to get published, but it took him until 2013 to get started. Since then: 11 novels and novellas, 1 poetry collection, 2 short story collections, and 3 short stories.

Rochelle Wilcox was born and raised in Las Vegas, where she learned at an early age the value of fantasy and escape. Raised by a single mom -- one of the first women trained to deal poker in the early 70's -- Rochelle spent more time in casinos than most adults. She and her husband decided to leave the desert behind and raise their sons in Northern California, where they spend as much time on the water as they can.

I've been an avid reader for years. To my husband's dismay, I have bookshelves full of books, rooms full of books, boxes full of books. My cars have books in them. I just can't seem to get rid of them after I read them. You just never know when you will want to read it again, right?
About two years ago, my husband gave me the dream gift, a Kindle. It was love at first sight and my first foray into the world of ebooks. To say the least, I am a technologically challenged person but when a reader, such as I, is told that you can have the book you want to read in seconds, I'm going to do whatever it takes to learn how to use it as quickly as possible.
While I still have books everywhere, I no longer take ten or twelve books with me when I go on vacation. The only thing I need is my Kindle. It never leaves my purse.
My genre of choice is romance with a paranormal twist. My authors of choice are Diana Palmer, Iris Johansen, Catherine Coulter, Jill Gregory and of course, the queen, Nora Roberts. I am also very partial to Michael Connelly, who is not a romance author but damn that man can write!
In my life prior to becoming an author, I was a Legal Assistant/Office Manager for a wonderful local estate planning attorney (no criminals that I know of). Prior to that, I also worked my way up the ladder in a large corporation, from payroll clerk to supervising nine employees in operational accounting.
When my children, Shandelle and Pilar, were small, I took a few years off to be a full-time mom and help my husband with his accounting work for his auto repair shop.
After, Michael, my husband, sold his business, he changed professions and started working for a national construction company.
Michael and I raised two beautiful, strong women so that's who I write about. The women in my books are strong individuals that have moments of weakness and frailty to work through.
Cynthia Woolf
Cynthia Woolf was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in the mountains west of Golden. She spent her early years running wild around the mountain side with her friends.
Their closest neighbor was one quarter of a mile away, so her little brother was her playmate and her best friend. That fierce friendship lasted until his death in 2006.
Cynthia was and is an avid reader. Her mother was a librarian and brought new books home each week. This is where young Cynthia first got the storytelling bug. She wrote her first story at the age of ten. A romance about a little boy she liked at the time.
She worked her way through college and went to work full time straight after graduation and there was little time to write. Then in 1990 she and two friends started a round robin, writing a story about pirates. She found that she missed the writing and kept on with other stories. In 1992 she joined Colorado Romance Writers and Romance Writers of America. Unfortunately, the loss of her job demanded she not renew her memberships and her writing stagnated for many years.
In 2001, she saw an ad in the paper for a writers conference being put on by CRW and decided she'd attend. One of her favorite authors, Catherine Coulter, was the keynote speaker. Cynthia was lucky enough to have a seat at Ms. Coulter's table at the luncheon and after talking with her, decided she needed to get back to her writing. She rejoined both CRW and RWA that day and hasn't looked back.
Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband Jim and the great friends she's made at CRW for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.
