In the deep woods, they find a gypsy encampment and take refuge with them for the night. His heart is lost gazing in the exotic pale blue eyes of a raven-haired beauty. Saraina and her people just want to be free and live peacefully. Meeting Prince Răzvan changes everything, first with his dire prediction and second, with his warm hands and gaze that tear of her heart.

In 1938 Prince Razvan Forta was on his way to the king to inform him of his vision, a vision of Adolph Hitler ravaging Romania and it’s people. On his way he stopped at a gypsy camp for food and shelter for the night and it was a stop that would change his life forever. At the camp he looks into the eyes of a beautiful girl, a girl that takes his breath away and a girl he wants as his wife. The short time they have together is all it took for both him and Saraina to know they belong together. He tries to do things the human way and asks her father for her hand in marriage but is rudely turned down and things get even worse when one of the gypsy women begin shouting that he is a strigoi (vampire).

Razvan leaves the gypsy camp to see the king and is prepared to return for the woman he has fallen madly in love with only when he returns it is to find the camp empty. Razvan and Saraina have the ability to speak to each other through their minds another indication that she is his one true lifemate and they are able to share dreams together. Unfortunately fearing for his daughter’s safety her father binds her hands and feet and covers her eyes making it impossible for Razvan to know where she is. All he has of her is the blanket she weaved filled with stars, a blanket never out of his sight.

The war rages on and true to his vision and true to history Hitler destroys everything in his path and Razvan and his soldiers save as many innocent people as he can. There is no question that everyone who wants to go to his castle sanctuary are invited. Razvan and his men are fighting a war of their own to destroy as many Nazis as possible. I don’t have to go into detail of what we all know happened during WWII because it is something none of us would ever forget.

The war ends and this story takes us from 1938 to present time all while Razvan searches for Saraina. He is no longer able to speak to her because she doesn’t answer and he no longer has dreams but he can still heart her heartbeat and in spite of the fact that she would be an old woman by now he never gives up. Now is when I want to reveal everything that happened but then I would leave you nothing to discover for yourself and believe me it is worth your time and money to find out.

I loved this story and that is my very own opinion I read it in one day because I couldn’t put it down and I recommend it highly. I loved the characters especially Saraina and Razvan. It was a love story for the ages.

I want to begin my review by saying that before reading this book, even though it says it is book #1, you should read The Stormy Love Life of Laura Cordelais. That book explains what a Telkhine is and introduces Laura and David. For some reason the books did not go in order. I have read many reviews where people have complained about wanting David and Laura’s story and an explanation of what a Telkine is. Both Laura and her sister Elizabeth are Telkines.

Maximillian Vander Meer is a thousand year old vampire who owns a huge company and is the creator of the Arnheim Society in New York. This Society and their Arnheim Knights have been protecting humans since its creation in 1626. Max is the Vampire King of New York; in spite of his wealth and power he lacks the one thing he needs–his lifemate. Now at the brink of walking into the sun, he makes one last plea to the Goddess Freya. Will his plea be answered and finally bring his lifemate to him?

David Hilliard and his wife Laura are at dinner with Laura’s sister, Evelyn. A year ago, Evelyn lost her husband and young son in an accident, and she ran to her sister for comfort and support. When Laura was first turned, Evelyn threw holy water in Laura’s face and slammed the door. When Laura left a red balloon with a note outside her sister’s door, Evelyn burst the balloon and ripped up the letter. However, when tragedy struck, Evelyn needed and wanted her sister. Laura and David welcomed her with open arms and brought her to stay with them in New York.

Evelyn’s life is about to change in more ways then she could ever imagine when Max walks in to the restaurant where David, Laura, and she are dining. Max knows immediately that Evelyn is his lifemate. Evelyn can’t believe the Viking she has dreamed about all her life is standing before her. Max was a Viking who left to attack a village, but never returned to his wife, Svenna, because that trip was his last as a human. Turned by a vicious vampiress and held as her prisoner for seven years, he lost everything he loved–his wife and son. Now he is sure Svenna has returned as Evelyn. Can he get her to love him and accept that she is his lifemate? Evelyn knows he is a vampire, but it is something she refuses to become. If she does accept him, their life together would not be very long. Max is willing to take whatever she will give him.

This is a beautiful love story that transcends time. David and Laura are prominently featured in this book. It was great to learn where they are and what they are doing. Evelyn knows there is a bond between her and Max. However, having been betrayed and physically abused by her deceased husband, she is not ready to give her heart to Max. There are also violence and threats. Someone is killing humans and wants Max, but the identity of the killer is a mystery.

Noblesse Van Der Meer is the daughter of the Vampire King Max Van Der Meer. I did not read the first book in the series, The Vampire King of New York, but the author did a wonderful job of bringing me up to date. I know all about Donovan Dupre and his two daughters. Laura is a Telkhine (can control storms) and is married to Noblesse’s brother, David. His daughter, Evelyn, is now Queen since she is married to Max. Both girls are now vampires.

Donovan first fell in love with Noblesse at Evie’s wedding. He is well aware of the fact that each vampire waits for their lifemate, the one who is meant just for them. Donovan is a human. As much as he loves Noblesse, he knows that if her lifemate appears, he will have to leave her and he doesn’t think he could stand that. He has managed to keep from making love to her in spite of her desire to do so. If Donovan did marry Noblesse, it would definitely be a new meaning to “All in the Family”. Donovan’s two daughters married, one to the king and one to the prince and then if he married Noblesse he would be marrying his daughter’s daughter. Wow!

Unfortunately, Noblesse’s lifemate appears faster than expected in the form of an Ancient named Kaz. Kaz announces that he and Noblesse are lifemates and Donovan does what he feels he has to and leaves. Although Noblesse accepts that Kaz is her lifemate she cannot understand why she still longs for Donovan and why she has no feelings for Kaz. There is a secret to learn about knowing who your true lifemate is, but it is a secret I will not share. Trying to figure out her feelings about the two men who have entered her life is only a small part of what is driving Noblesse. She is still trying to find her mother who disappeared during the French Revolution. She knows her mother is dead, but she wants to visit her grave and put flowers on it.

Donovan is heartbroken and being away from Noblesse is not helping. He feels she is in trouble and needs his help—or is that just wishful thinking on his part? Even if Donovan did get Noblesse, he is human and she is a vampire. Turning him could lead to his death. Is their love strong enough to overcome a true lifemate?

This is a story of love, lies, surprises, and secrets. There is sex, but it is beautifully done and there is also suspense. As I said before, I did not read book one, but I would suggest reading that one first. The characters were wonderful.

It is almost Christmas and Georgia Blake finds herself without a job and running out of money.  Things are not going well for her–until she is attacked and saved by a handsome man named Trevor Stenwood.  Trevor is not your ordinary man. He is a born vampire able to walk in the sun, and has been following Georgia for quite a while, since she is his lifemate.

Georgia is thankful to Trevor for saving her and agrees to have lunch with him.  By dinner time, she realizes that there is something between them.  Trevor decides he has to tell Georgia everything about himself and her, and why almost every member of her family met their deaths due to some sort of accident.  Unfortunately, Georgia is not ready to hear his news and throws him out of her house.

Trevor needs to win her back, and she is more than ready to have him back.  She learns who and what she is and what he is, and she is ready to accept him just the way he is.  The only problem is there are demons wanting her dead.  Why are demons after her?  Can Trevor protect her?  Were demons responsible for the deaths of most of her family?

This was a wonderful story and Georgia and Trevor are wonderful characters.  We meet up again with David and Laura from the last book and they are back in Manhattan. There is sex, violence and love.  We are also introduced to the Arnheim Society that governs all the city’s undead.  I am sure that there will be more about the Society in future books.

Laura Cordelais has lost her fiance to another woman, her mother to death, her ticket to her mother’s funeral, and most of her money to a robber.  With the last of her money, she takes a cab home. Upon crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, she jumps out and decides death is the only thing left for her.  But then one more thing doesn’t go her way; she changes her mind but slips and falls anyway.

David Hilliard is a vampire who has longed for love for a long time. When he sees Laura going into the water, he swims in after her.  Determined to take her to the hospital in spite of the seriousness of her injuries, she begs him not to stating that she will only try it again.  With no other choice he turns her.  At first she is angry for losing her humanity, but before long she realizes she loves David as much as he loves her.

For a year they have lived together in Manhattan until she finally convinces David to take her to New Orleans to visit her mother’s grave.  In New Orleans, things take a very bad turn for them.  One day she comes home to find a naked vampire on top of David. She is determined to leave him.  When a unicorn comes and offers her back her humanity, she readily accepts until the last part of the ritual which I will not reveal in this review.

What happened with David and the other vampire was not of his doing. He surprises Laura with a wedding ceremony, something that has never happened between two vampires before.  Right after the ritual, Laura finds herself being whisked away by a Mambo called Brilla.  Brilla was an old friend of her mother.  Laura discovers that she is a Telkhine, a being that can call a storm or unwind it. According to ancient laws, she cannot take a vow with a vampire, or there will be destruction.

Unfortunately, Laura is being given tainted blood which is slowly removing her memory, especially of her husband.  Before long, she realizes what is happening and stops drinking. David, with the help of Laura’s long lost father, is on the way but it will not be easy.  Brilla is throwing everything at them to destroy them both.

When I began the book I loved it, it was everything I enjoy in a paranormal book, vampires, sex and eternal love.  Unfortunately, this book veered off into fantasy and magic.  Although David and Laura still loved each other, there was too much going on.  I will definitely read the rest of the books in the series and hope that they will not detour as much as this one did.
