Houston Monterae has six brothers all from different mothers and a philandering father. His father was in a band and left his seed all over the country. Unfortunately, the one woman he refused to accept was Celeste the daughter of a New orleans Voodoo Queen and his refusal and disregard for Celeste would change his life as well as all his bloodline. Celeste’s mother called him a dog and cursed him to turn into a wolf every full moon, it was change that would be extremely painful and would also affect his offspring. Unfortunately he had no idea who his offspring were and so that was his first order of business after his first change.

He had seven sons and he arranged to send money to help support them but Houston’s mother died and he was an orphan so his father took him in. At the age of eighteen Houston left. When his father died and well aware of the fact that at the age of twenty-one he and his other brothers would turn he found them all. Two of the older brothers chose to stay in the States while Houston and the other four headed for Australia where Houston started the Five Brothers Security service.

One night while working Houston heard a noise that turned out to be a car accident. In the car was Detective Cameron Dwyer and from the second he saw her he wanted her. It didn’t take long before they found themselves in bed together and Houston bit her making her his mate. Once he made her his mate there would be no other women in his life and if she refused him it would kill him, literally. Together Houston who she calls “Texas” investigate the disappearance of a young woman all connected to a nightclub called “The Tank” and a cab service.

Things become desperate when a second girl disappears and together Houston and Cameron follow the clues hoping that the girls are still alive. I don’t want to go into anything else because this book is full of secrets, betrayals and a mystery that needs to be solved. There is attempted rape, sex and violence. I started this book made dinner and then finished it that is how much I loved it. I can’t wait to start book two.
