Vampires and werewolves live long lives. The Sleepless City saga might have ended but the story continues…

Someone is hunting supernaturals.

Vampire Simon Hawthorne and his human partner Ben Leyton’s plans for a peaceful holiday with family are hijacked by the New Zealand Supernatural Council.

Tensions are on the rise in Wellington. Supernatural councillors are disappearing. Werewolves are suspicious of anyone human or vampire. If they don’t work together, their enemy has already won.

And no one with a connection to the supernatural world is safe.

Anne Barwell has a new release today!!!!

I must begin this review by telling you the back story to her newest book Double Exposure. I have been a fan of hers for quite a sometime. We were introduced to Anne Barwell and Elizabeth Noble a few years ago. These two wonderful authors decided to write a series, to not take on the responsibilities of combing their skills into one book like others. They took upon a different idea. While Ms. Barwell wrote Book# 1 and #3 ; Ms. Noble wrote book #2 and# 4 to write a wonderful four book series called The Sleepless City , for which they have been nominated for numerous awards.

Today’s new release is a new series spinoff continuing the lives of Simon and Ben in their next life’s adventure. At this point of their lives, this happy couple has decided marriage is in their future. Living in Boggslake surrounded by all their friends would be the acceptable choice. But Ben’s family and friends and memories are in Wellington, New Zealand. Deciding to have two ceremonies is the best plan, off they fly to Ben’s hometown for a quiet service and quiet honeymoon so Simon can meet the family.

As you can imagine Simon is fearful of telling the family he is a Vampire……Good Grief!! The discussions between he and Ben talking about turning Ben has been on the table for a while now and decisions need to be made. When you are married to someone who lives for hundreds of years it is hard for both parties. The Vampire, who has to lose a love as they watch them grow old and die, for the human watching themselves grow old and their partner remaining young. Stress ,stress!!!

Besides this quandary, Simon is asked to help the New Zealand Supernatural Council who are struggling and need ‘a moments help’…. That moments help, almost killing them and other members of the family….

As always with her books Anne Barwell keeps the spotlight on her story, yet the characters are spotlighted and always centre court. Now I will ask……Will this be shared again with Ms. Nobel or will this series be hers alone…..

Always a 5 Star read for me…This no exception

Bk 2 Electric Candle Elizabeth Noble

Bk 3 Famiily And Reflections Anne Barwell
