Once again Ms. Thomas-Sundstrom has written a book that had me hooked from page one till the end. If you are not familiar with her books then I recommend diving into the paranormal world that she has created, a world full of amazing characters and a world once you enter you will not want to leave until you have been totally sated.
Kaitlin Davies was walking from the university she attends to her home when she found herself the victim of an attack. This was no ordinary attack because she met a creature that should only exist in movies and books, a vampire. As he drained her, she knew she was dying but then another creature appeared hopefully to rescue her, a wolf.
Michael Hunter an alpha went against all the rules governing werewolves when he decided to save Kaitlin and change her to a Were. His blood would be strong enough to counteract a vampire bite which would turn her into a creature of the night. For some reason Michael feels drawn to her and she readily agreed to him turning her, the alternative was death.
Kaitlin has a lot to learn about being a Were but she trusts Michael and has feelings for him and when he explains who her attacker was and the ramifications of being bitten by a vampire, she is ready to embrace the new her. Unfortunately, Kaitlin had no idea that being a human/Were was not all she was she was fae. No doubt this was a family secret one her parents didn’t feel it was necessary to reveal to her.
It becomes clear that Kaitlin is not an ordinary Were and it may be a result of her fae blood. She has a lot to adjust to but the one thing she is sure of is her feelings for Michael and his feelings for her. Vampires are showing up in larger numbers which is also a mystery and when members of the Miami pack show up in search of a rogue Were and his pack things just go from bad to worse. Is everything that is happening because of Kaitlin? Is her fae blood drawing other paranormals to her? So many questions and all are answered.
Suspense, sex, romance, amazing characters and a story that kept me on the edge of my seat till the end. I can’t recommend this book in addition to all Ms. Sundstrom’s other books highly enough. You have some great reading to look forward to, lucky you.
