Synn, a demon, carries extraordinary magic and power, but there is more within her than she dreams. Kidnapped as a child, her captors murdered her family and forced her into training as a warrior assassin.

When an assignment goes horribly wrong, she finds herself at the mercy of the friends and family of her intended target. Offering valuable information in exchange for protection, she gains her freedom, but it is not without its challenges.

Gavin Shaughnessy is the publican at his family's Irish pub. He is certain Synn is meant to be his and isn't bothered by her past. He must find a way to convince her their future together is stronger than the dark memories that haunt her dreams.

When her past comes calling for revenge, will their love survive the raging inferno she brings down upon them? Or will the searing path of destruction destroy all they hold dear?

Synn has finally found freedom from Baltizar who had enslaved her ever since he murdered her family.
Now in Ireland and given freedom by Bruce the territory overlord of the Western Hemisphere she hopes
she can finally put her past behind her but nightmares and a fear of Baltizar getting to her and her friends
keeps her from totally enjoying her freedom and giving into her feelings for Gavin Shaughnessy who
loves her and wants her to be with him.

Gavin works at his family’s pub and is a gryphon and gryphon take one mate for life and he knows that
Synn is the one. Synn begins working at the pub and makes friends and even adopts a small pup she
finds alone and scared in a rain storm. So of course the perfect name for this pup was “Storm”. The only
thing keeping her from really accepting her freedom and the friendship and love she is offered is her fear
of Baltizar, not just for herself but for those she has come to know and love.

A visit from Tristian, Bruce’s enforcer reveals secrets from Synn’s family history and she is shocked to
discover that she is not what she always thought she was. Synn is more powerful than anyone could
have expected and she also has part of Baltizar’s dark magic in her. Although a lot of her magic was
blocked by Bruce having discovered who she really is has made him determined to release all her magic
and have her learn how to control it. Although Baltizar is trapped in the 7th level of Hell he still manages
to get into her dreams and has demons in the mortal world doing his bidding.

The only way for Synn and everyone else in her life to be safe is for Baltizar to be destroyed along with
his demon helpers and a plan is put into motion. Will the plan work? Will Synn finally be free to love and
live a normal life, well as normal a life as can be had when you are surrounded by witches, warlocks,
vampires and other supernatural creatures.

I enjoyed this book but unfortunately not as much as the previous ones because I did find this book a
little slow moving at times and the excitement didn’t really occur until the end. Having said that I still
enjoyed reading about characters from the past books and learning about Synn and her life.
