Fae Warrior, Bliss Goodeve, fires up her empath skills to battle the Reptiles invading Earth. But when it comes to her new human partner, Nathaniel Calhoun, Bliss would rather make love than wage war. A man of mystery, she wonders what he's hiding behind the horn-rimmed glasses and white lab coat.

Nate admits to being a brainiac, at least that’s the persona he shows the outside world. If his boss discovers his troubled past, life could get complicated. The bad boy in Nate wants the beguiling Bliss in the worst way. Yet, the scientist inside him calculates high odds of being left broken-hearted.

After one Reptile goes rogue, it’s up to Bliss, Nate, and an alien critter named Noodge to bring him down. But time is running out, and things are heating up—especially romantically. Bliss is all for living in the moment. But will that be enough for Nate?

Bliss is the second book in the Fae Warriors series.  The books follow the Goodeve sisters: Solace, Portence, and Bliss, as they serve Mother Nature and battle the creations that go against what the Mother intended when she made them.  This story is a continuation,so reading the first book will definitely benefit the reader with more history of the characters.  Bliss Goodeve, like her sisters, has a special gift over and above being fae.  Bliss has the power of empathy, which she can use to both heal and to influence.  Like her sisters, she is to be paired with a human, or Hume, partner.  When she meets her prospective partner she is both intrigued and cautious.  Nathaniel Calhoun is her ultimate dream guy come to life.  This causes her some trepidation and caution.  Who would expect their dream guy when your dreams are based off of comic book superheroes?  But Nate is just that.  He is a triple PhD as well as being an honest to goodness cowboy.  Nate, while brilliant, has been fooled one to many times by women who want what he has, rather than just wanting him, so he comes into this partnership with some hesitancy of his own.  As if their pasts aren’t enough to overcome, they are soon in the middle of a battle against a new level of evil amongst the Reptiles the sisters and Mother Nature have been battling all along.

The adventure and sci-fi elements of this book are great.  The author pulls you into the story quickly and completely.  There are moments of silliness and humor, some of which are played out in mistakes in translation of human colloquialisms.  The romance is sweet and secondary to the sci-fi feel of the story.  This is a fun and interesting storyline.  It has the dashing cowboy, who is the sidekick/partner to a strong and interesting fae woman.  It has a truly disgusting and evil villain.  It even has a funny and drooling pet that saves the day more than once.  The bond between the sisters is genuine and there is just enough of a tease of book 3 in the narrative to intrigue the reader to get that next book.
