It was a hot, humid night when something woke up Jack Wallace, that something turned out to be the sounds of children vomiting all at the same time. Sirens blared and ambulances took the children to the hospital. Jack returned to bed only to find out the next morning that some other reporter got the scoop on what happened, a missed opportunity for Jack who was a writer for a local newspaper.

Jack’s editor insisted that he get details and since everything that happened, happened to his neighbors he began knocking on doors. What no one expected was for the same thing to happen at 3AM every morning for almost a week. The CDS,Child Services and the police became involved. The question on everyone’s mind was if the parents were responsible even though it seemed unlikely that so many parents would be poisoning their children.

One of the parents brought in a Professor, Francis Beakman who she hoped would think outside the box and come up with answers because in addition to the children getting sick the parents were now being stalked and harrassed. Jack was also a victim of the stalker but the guilty party is soon discovered and the reason behind everything was quite a surprise.

This was an easy read and I finished it in one sitting.
