Avery Rivers is a country music sensation, selling records by the millions and playing to sold-out crowds. But behind that persona is Robert, a burned-out musician cracking under the pressure. He’s unable to write any new songs, and he wants out of the business—at least for a while. He changes his appearance and finds honest, hard work in Jackson, Wyoming. Maybe getting to be a regular guy for a while will get him past his block.

Hy Whitely was a championship bull rider until he watched his best friend thrown in the arena and decided the rodeo circuit was no longer the place for him. He wants to be plain old Zeke for a while, and when he returns to his family ranch, he bumps right into Robert—a one-night stand from his last rodeo appearance who is now working there as a ranch hand.

The heat between the men could sear the grass off the range, but each one is hiding a secret. Robert and Zeke, the men behind the public images, fall in love, but can they hold on when Avery and Hy are pulled back into the spotlight?

Avery Rivers is a country music star who hasn’t been able to write anything new in months and who has finally decided not to let others live his life for him. Getting into a truck, shaving and cutting off his famous long hair he knows it is time to become who he really is, Robert Cummings.

Robert finds himself working on a ranch in Jackson, Wyoming finally feeling free and finally able to put words to paper. It truly proves to be a small world when he finds himself face to face with his one night stand Zeke Whitingly.

Zeke is a bull rider who follows the rodeo from place to place but after his best friend had a horrific accident he decided to return to his family ranch and decide what he wants to do with his life, live on the ranch or return to the rodeo. When he sees Robert he has no idea who he truly is but he also has a secret because he is a champion bull rider going by the name Hy Whitely. It was at the rodeo that he and Robert first met and sparks flew.

Working side by side each day and falling into bed together each night brought out feelings that neither man had had in years. Although neither one is ashamed of being gay they just haven’t had a need to broadcast it to the world. As their feelings grow they know that their comfortable and happy situation won’t last for long and they are right when circumstances bring to light their secrets.

In a short time these two men from two different worlds fell in love but each one has a life that involves constantly travelling leaving little time for them to ever be together. Can they return to their lives and still find time for each other? Is their love strong enough to overcome the obstacles facing them? The only way for their love to survive is for someone to find a way to make it work but that is something I will not reveal in this review.

Another wonderful story by Mr. Grey and if you are already familiar with his work then I don’t have to tell you how amazing he is.
