Quinn Fairmont, Warlock and current Grand Master of the Warlock Consortium and Cade Mairston lecturer and researcher at the Institute for Archaeological Studies are living together and growing more and more in love with each other. Things take a bad turn when a Book of Shadows is found and causes the death of a witch. The book is filled with sadness and hurt and Quinn must find the book and who it belonged to.

The only problem is that the book is now in the hands of Valensia, one of the most powerful witches in Britain and the very witch who put a spell on Quinn and made him her very own sex slave until he was able to break the hold she had on him. He is not very happy about having to be reunited with her and Cade is even more upset fearing she will once again put a spell on the man he loves. But, sometimes you have to put the past aside and do what has to be done. The book could lead Quinn to Jeremy Payton a Witchfinder General who is a danger to Quinn’s world.

With book in hand and his meeting with Valensia behind him Quinn has to find out who the book belonged to and how to get it to help locate and destroy Jeremy. There is the possibility of Matthew Hopkins the Witchfinder General being able to reincarnate into the body of a human and he must be stopped.

In the meantime Quinn begins to open up to Cabe about his past and Cabe begins to try to enhance his Water Sprite abilities by breathing under water. The strongest part of this book and the series as a whole is the love between Quinn and Cabe. In spite of the evil trying to destroy what they have their love sees them through. The sex scenes are hot, hot, hot and the questions raised in book one are answered.

Unfortunately it has been a long time between my reading the first book and getting the second to review so I was a little lost at times because the story was not fresh in my memory but none the less I loved the relationship between Quinn and Cabe. If you love magic, witches and warlocks you will love this series but start with book one.
