Eternal Covenant by K.G. Inglis is utterly riveting from the first page. This is a page turner that is full of beautifully woven description, plot, and memorable characters. Best of all, this book has something for every lover of paranormal or romance, strong characters of both genders, protective alpha-types, demons, angels, vampires, and origin stories. Clear your calendar, because this is the first in the series.

In the beginning, in Jesus’ time, souls were shepherded from the mortal realm to the spiritual realms by angels of death. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross allowed those souls to journey freely at death and his blood was gifted to a particularly beautiful and protective angel who became the first vampire.

In the modern day, some immortal beings, which one could call the Eternals, strive to keep the world in balance. Some are forces for good and some for evil. It is when two divine artifacts are in jeopardy that anthropology student Cassie finds herself in the midst of this power struggle and being protected by Alaric, a reclusive vampire who didn’t want to form any bonds— and now finds himself falling hard for Cassie. The feeling is mutual, but because of his sacred duty, he won’t give into his desire easily. Fortunately for lovers of romance, Cassie is just as stubborn and we are soon treated to some truly spectacular scenes of passion and protectiveness, all while a war between good and evil is waged.

While this book is absolutely stunning, there are some confusing bits and there will be names that are a workout to get your tongue around. However, those minor flaws are unable to detract from the stirring love story and the beautiful world building. There are quite a few shocks, not just about Alaric and Cassie, but about a wonderful chance for a happy ending with more than either can hope for. I won’t give it away here, but you’ll be grinning from ear to ear when you read it.

Eternal Covenant is a thoroughly entertaining book that will hook you on the series.
