A marriage of convenience - no strings attached - suited both Holly and Joshua just fine; a virgin marriage, so that they could both walk away… But they made a crucial mistake: they didn't take chemistry into account.

Holly
Seriously? They actually advertised for a husband for her without telling her?
She was going to have to kill them, stone dead.

But having a ‘husband’ behind her would give her an edge she didn’t have now. Donald, her ex, and his wife would have to revise their strategy of keeping her children away from her. That was an advantage worth taking a risk for. But what kind of man was likely to respond to a tiny ad in the newspaper no one reads anymore?

Joshua
Nicole had to marry him now or let him go. He was done waiting, but he did not know what else he could do to persuade her to his way of thinking. Until he saw the little ad in the paper. A plan fell into his head as if he'd snapped his fingers. This woman who audaciously advertised herself as available would do perfectly. Married to another woman would make him irresistibly attractive to Nicole – as was the case with everything she wanted and couldn’t have.

From the moment Holly accepted Joshua’s offer of marriage, strange things started happening to her, and the strangeness followed her to her new (temporary) home. She was going to have to unravel a decades-old mystery before anything else.

A ghost, a wronged fiancée, and trouble with everyone around them. Will Holly and Joshua get what they’ve set out to achieve?

Holly Turnbull is an investigative reporter whose life took a turn for the worse when her husband Donald decided to leave her and take a new wife. Since Donald and his wife Gwen could give the kids a stable environment it was agreed that the kids would live with them, and Holly would get visitation rights. Unfortunately for Holly, Gwen made it her mission to keep Holly away from the kids so that Donald and Holly would not have a connection that could jeopardize Gwen’s marriage to Donald.

Holly’s three friends decided that she needed to be married, a man in her life would give her the leverage she needed to get her kids back. Their idea was nuts, advertise for a husband for convenience only something Holly would not even consider and something her friends decided to do anyway. This simple act by friends who loved Holly would set in motion a slew of unexpected situations both good and bad.

Joshua Jordan has been engaged for four years to Nicole and has had enough he gave her an ultimatum and if she did not agree to set a wedding date he was finished with the engagement. When he saw the advertisement for a husband of convenience, he jumped at it. Marriage to another woman would bring Nicole to her senses because nothing would motivate her more than getting back what she lost. So, Holly and Joshua have both agreed and set their plan in motion.

Holly would have a husband and money for a lawyer and Joshua would finally get Nicole to agree to marrying him but, and that is a big but, no one anticipated what would happen when they met and the attraction and lust that would cause them to fall over each other. The virgin marriage did not last long after the I dos and no one could ever have anticipated the appearance of a ghost named Moragh Abernathy who wants Holly to tell her story.

Everyone involved, Holly, Joshua and Nicole are all tied to Moragh in one way or another and Holly has to find out what her story is and why she wants revenge. Moragh’s story is a huge part of this book, and it was what kept me glued to the story. Who was Moragh and what did she have to do with Joshua, Holly and Nicole.

This book had it all, suspense, lies, betrayal, secrets, magic, romance and a ghost. I won’t go into detail as to what happened to everyone but it was nothing short of amazing and I can’t recommend this book highly enough.
