Once again Ms. Sweeney has written a very unique story, even though it is short. Luc Kai’Leel is half Terran and half Felidan and is a naturalized citizen of Earth. He works in an Investigation Agency, and his latest client has a job for him that is bizarre beyond belief.

Ms. Rena Powell wants Luc to find her dead fiancĂ©’s brain, not just any brain but a one of a kind robotic one. Rena is convinced that the Federation is the one responsible for blowing up her fiancĂ©’s car with him in it. Her fiancĂ© Marcus was about to quit his job with the Federation where he acted as an assassin, forcing the Federation to eliminate him and take his brain for use later on in another assassin.

Things go from bizarre, to very very bizarre. Luc, Marcus and Rena find out that there is a whole new life waiting for them all. What is that life? Who lives and who dies? A well written story with great characters, something I have come to expect from Ms. Sweeney’s books.
