When reading a book with the genre paranormal romance I keep thinking what could an author do now to make it ‘different’? How is the book going to WOW me? Enter Ms. K-Lee Klein with her very first entry for this series, book one of her Family of Misfits.
First let me say the supporting cast members are the best. The house hold is comprised of Ali the “Mama,” a white witch, Lucius, an artic wolf, Manny, a mountain lion, and Kristof, Lucius, an artic wolf, Manny, a mountain lion, and Kristof, a bear.
Ali invites three humans for their holiday dinner, which includes Nicu a Romanian Gypsy searching for his spirit mate. Lucius is happy with things just the way they are. He has found a home and a family, something he had lost a long time ago. No ties to anyone but them, one night stands and no relationships, havoc ensues when Nicu comes to dinner.
Nicu knows Lucius is his ‘spirit mate; now to convince Lucius. In a first book for a series, the author has a lot of scenes to set and this Book One has much information for the reader to disseminate. Between the angst between Nicu and Lucius, there is getting to know the family, who I am looking forward to see again.
Lucius and Nicu find their way thank heavens, as love does conquer all. I think Book #2 is Mama Bears Book and I am looking forward to it….Wonder who will be Ali’s spirit mate and if Grandma has gone home…..Loved her
