“Rob Regor knew that humans were trouble. All the shape-shifting mermen of the Morvann Islands knew it. And human women were double trouble, especially when they were lying on the road in front of a digger.”

Rob has a mission. Go to the mainland. Work as a policeman. Find out as much as possible about the mainland humans. Report back to his father, the head of the Regor Clan. It should be easy.

Until he has to arrest Charlie. Rob can’t fight his attraction to the sexy eco-warrior, and it puts him on one hell of a collision course with his family and his Clan. Will he break the rules – or break her heart, and his?

Roger Regor is a shapeshifting merman from the Morvann Islands now living on the mainland and working as a rookie cop. Roger’s father, the leader of the Regor Clan has sent him on a mission to observe humans and the crimes they commit against other species. He is the first merman to spy on the mainland but it is his first arrest that will change his life.

Charlotte Fitzwilliam (Charlie) is an eco-warrior on a mission to stop E-SCOR from building a development on the island of St-Sulien Bay destroying the land and messing with the dolphin and porpoises sonar already causing some to beach. When Roger first saw her she was laying in front of a digger refusing to move and stopping work on the project. With no choice Roger takes her into custody in spite of the fact that he has a serious attraction to her.

Charlotte is a spunky do-gooder and is ready to go to prison for what she believes is right, unfortunately Roger knows that prison is not the right place for her and he manages to get all charges dropped. Charlotte should be happy but when she discovers how he got the charges dropped she is anything but.

Roger is drawn to Charlotte but knows that if his father ever discovers he was with a human he risks her life and his own. Although his father is not a murderer death is not always the lessor of two evils and their lives would be anything but pleasant. They keep going back and forth as to whether one night together would be enough but then one of them decides it is not. Who decided is not for me to reveal. I will say that the fight for love is a fight that is not always easily won. Roger is a merman and Charlotte is a human, what chance would they have for a future. Read this book and find out if true loves wins, and you will also discover surprises and secrets.
