Trenton is in his forties and once a week travels between Lancaster to Pennsylvania by train. One particular trip he saw his first love and the one that broke his heart, Brit. Brit and he were friends from the third grade and when Trent finally got the nerve to kiss Brit he was shocked by Brit’s reaction. Now they are seeing each other for the first time in over twenty years.

Trent is a lawyer and Brit is a software developer for Shoebox. The two men have lived very different lives up to this point, Trent lived twelve years with his partner John who died from a heart defect two years ago. Brit did what he thought he needed to do and married and had a  daughter. Brit always cared about Trent but did not want to admit to being gay and so he chose the path he was expected to take and not the path that would have brought him happiness. The only plus in his life was his daughter and no matter what path he took he would never regret having her.

Now that the two men have met again is there any chance for them to finally travel a path together? Although so many years have gone by can they find the love they should have had?

This was an awesome story about two men who lost twenty years of their lives because one was unable to accept what he was. So many wasted years and so many people who do the exact same thing by taking the path they think they should not the path that they truly want.

Andrew Grey always seems to be able to touch on things that are faced by so many people, gay and straight alike. In my eyes Andrew Grey is exceptional in his ability to reel in a reader and touch on their emotions, I know he touches on mine all the time.
