The Dark Seducer is known throughout Scotland as a man who charms many women into his bed. Pleasure is his motto as he obtains information for his king. Yet Rorik MacNeil harbors one secret buried beneath his heart of steel. An unfulfilled conquest plagues both man and his inner wolf, and Rorik would rather suffer death's sharp blade than confront his greatest fear.

As the Seer for the Orkneyjar Isles, Ragna Maddadsson confronts an unknown destiny when she travels across the North Sea to Scotland. In her quest to deliver a message from a powerful vision, she fears the warrior will not listen. If Rorik ignores her warning, Ragna must find a way to forestall his impending death. If unsuccessful, she risks having her heart cleaved in two.

To unravel their true fates, Rorik and Ragna must trust in the power of the wolf.

Rorik MacNeil, The Dark Seducer has had his service to the King and to the Wolves of Clan Sutherland laid out for him since he was young, a service that required him to seduce women and learn information from them that would be vital to the King. All his life he has lived in darkness serving his King and fighting his past and ignoring his wolf.

Ragna Maddadsson is the Seer of Orkneylar Isle and when she gets a vision of the man, she has always loved dying she does the one thing she swore she would never do she needed to travel across the sea to Scotland to warn Rorik in person for fear he would not otherwise listen. His life is in danger and that is the only thing that could possibly make her journey by sea and leave her home.

When she arrived, she seeked the help of Magnar hoping that he could convince Rorik that he would die by the next full moon but Magnar insisted that she was the one to persuade Rorik because he could not force any of his men to shift into their wolf and that was the only way Rorik could be cured. A battle with Ragna’s half-brother David finally was the last nail in the coffin because Rorik was at death’s door and only his wolf could save him.

Using everything available to her, prayer and herbs she did everything she could to get Rorik’s wolf to emerge and when it finally did the wolf would not allow anyone but her to look after him. Rorik’s wolf knew what Rorik refused to acknowledge for years; he loved Ragna. Years wasted while Rorik and Ragna warred at each other with words refusing to accept what their hearts and in Rorik’s case his wolf always knew.

Rorik is on a mission to discover information from David’s fiancé Hallgerd but now that he has accepted his feelings for Ragna can he fall back into his role as The Dark Seducer or is there another way for him to obtain information and will the King accept his decision to change the road laid out for him by none other than his father.

I love this series and was so happy to finally have Ragna and Rorik’s story. If you have read book one then you already have a background on these two and watched as they did nothing but show hate for each other until finally their story and their past was brought to light in this book. I already know whose story is next but I won’t reveal it because you can find out for yourself at the end of this story.

This story is filled with historical facts, betrayals, violence, sex, romance and amazing characters. We catch up with all the characters we met in book one and find out what is happening with them. I couldn’t wait to begin this book and couldn’t put it down until I finished it, now I eagerly await book three.
