Step aboard the River Queen for a red-hot love affair.

London-based journalist, Eliza Jameson, is on an idyllic assignment on a luxurious European river cruise when she finds the perfect distraction on board — old flame, Marcus Weston. But Eliza came dangerously close to falling for Marcus last time around, and in order to protect her heart she decides to play him at his own game, take control and call the shots. Little does she know, Marcus has his own agenda.

Marcus Weston is a man used to getting his own way. The archetypal adventurer, he has no plans to settle down. But Marcus has been thinking about rival journalist Eliza Jameson ever since they had a fling at a conference in Zurich, and now here she is on board the same river cruiser. He simply can’t resist. When things get complicated Marcus realizes he’s going to have to win Eliza, and it’s going to take a lot more than some clever sweet-talking to overcome her stubborn opposition. In the ensuing battle, who will end up on top?

Spend your summer reading time aboard a luxury European cruise on a romantic journey you’ll savor!

I confess, when I met Eliza Jameson and Marcus Weston, our romantic interests in this tale, I wasn’t sure I would ever warm up to them. Eliza seemed too inconsistent, Marcus seemed too much like a love ‘em and leave ‘em playboy.

What a joy to be wrong! Walker reeled me in faster than Marcus Weston can charm his way into a lady’s bedroom. Within a few pages I knew that aspiring novelist and columnist Eliza and jaded travel-writer Marcus had hidden depths and a true desire for more than just a hot byline.

When Eliza met Marcus at a conference last year, sparks (and clothing) flew, but it was just fling. Right? Eliza’s determined Marcus won’t ruin her chances at a more prestigious job by keeping him off-balance and setting her own rules when he coincidentally is sharing her next assignment, a trip on a river cruise. However, the rules are quickly bent and both end up swooning when they realize that what they have is more than just playful competition. They may have met their match, in more ways than one.

The sex is steamy and leaves you tingling while the banter sparkles and the scenery delights. Misadventures occur on board and off, while Eliza and Marcus grow closer and closer, sharing secrets they expected never to divulge and fearing rejection… only to find encouragement. Is this more than just an amazing trip? Could it be that fateful “trip of a lifetime”, the one that changes everything, even for such seasoned travelers as Weston and James? Or will one of them crack under pressure and run for self-preservation, believing it’s just a holiday fling?
