After being gone from home for almost two years Raelynn Casey has returned but she returned with a secret and filled with shame. A few semesters short of graduation she left college after something happened and it was home, family and friends that she ran back to.
Since she was a young girl Rae has been in love with one of her brother Aiden’s best friends, Jordan Slater and he was the one person she feared seeing again. She ran from Arkadia after Jordan the love of her life told her he didn’t love her or want her and now she has to face the one person who broke her heart over and over again.
Jordan is a street racer who also harbors a secret, one that involves the reason he sent Rae packing even though it was the last thing he wanted to do. In spite of the two dreading seeing each other there is no way to avoid it since Arkadia is a small town and Jordan’s friends are her friends and racing is in all their blood.
Although home Rae is not the same girl that first left and it is obvious to everyone who loves her. She suffers from panic attacks and what happened in college is something she can’t get out of her head.
Jordan and Rae do begin to get together but it is on, off, on, off and it became tiring after awhile. The second half of the book was much better than the first which seemed to drag on and on and since I am not a fan of racing or even cars the book did not hold an interest for me. If you, unlike me are interested in how street racing works and about cars then this would be the book for you. As I have said many times reviews are subjective it depends on the topic and since this topic was not my cup of tea doesn’t mean it won’t be yours.
