When your dreams, both those for your future and those that happen in your sleep, begin to change, what is a person supposed to do? Angela Renatus is an art historian with a specialty in the works of Da Vinci and she has landed a prestigious internship at the Getty Museum. Problems begin when her supervisor seems much more interested in what is under her skirt than what knowledge she has about the art in the building. Combined with weird dreams of the past including Da Vinci, Giuliano Medici, and Fioretta Gorini, Angela is questioning a lot of things, including her own sanity. When art detective, Alex Caine comes looking for a missing painting, everything becomes more intense. The two discover there are forces that have brought them together. The two must work to right wrongs that have been at play for generations, and maybe find love in the process.
This book is so unique in its approach to time travel. It is done with such a deft hand that the reader is pulled into the story immediately. This combination of mystery, thriller, romance, paranormal, and historical should be a confusing mess, but it is brilliant. If Dan Brown and Diana Gabaldon had a book love child, this would be the gifted and talented version of that child. If this is the first in this series, I can’t wait to see what Belle Ami does with the rest!
