To escape exile, Aidan Paytah has had to prove himself worthy. Every second of every damn day. He fought with everything he had to earn his precarious place on the Huracán team of dragon shifter enforcers. He can’t fail or afford distractions, no matter how temptingly sweet. Total loyalty to the clans and dedication to his team is the only way.

Sera Morrison lost her parents and her husband in short order, leaving her a single mother running her family winery alone. Nothing could ever have prepared her for the discovery that she’s a destined dragon mate. But once she finds out, there’s only one man she wants—the one who walks away.

However, the Alliance Council has its own agenda. They want to use her as a political pawn and force a mating that could ultimately kill her to save the High King. Aidan has no choice but to kidnap her, even if it means their close proximity reinforces their own mating bond. And mating with him could end up being a far worse fate for Sera....

Each book in the Fire's Edge series is STANDALONE:

Aiden Paytah once an orphan with no family was taken in and saved and has been fighting ever since to prove himself. He has finally fought his way into the Huracan team of dragons who fight fires in their dragon form. Not only is Aiden an orphan but he is also a blue dragon who are on the bottom of the ladder. Aiden has finally succeeded in proving himself but will retain the title of rookie for a while.

Sera Morrison we met in the last book when Delaney found her mate in the team leader,Finn. Sera and Delaney work together in Sera’s winery, a winery she is now in the process of selling. As a widowed mother of a six year old son Blake she knows that being surrounded by dragons is not the safest place to raise her child but every night her dreams are filled with a very handsome dragon named Aiden. Not only does she dream of him but her dreams are so real, they make love, they talk and when the dream ends she feels empty but Aiden has done everything in his power to stay away from her so her dreams will never become reality.

Aiden has been dreaming of Sera in the same way she dreams about him but being an orphan, a blue dragon and from the colonies the idea of her ever being his mate are slim to none and he is afraid to show his feelings. Not only is Aiden crazy about Sera but he loves Blake like his own and the feeling is reciprocated. Then something unexpected happens, Sera shows signs of being a dragon mate and she has three marks on the back of her neck to prove it. One of the marks belongs to Aiden but he won’t even make an appeal to be her mate and won’t go to the Mating Council especially since one of her marks could make her the mate of the High King who is in need of a mate or he could die so what chance does Aiden have.

If you have been reading this series and hopefully you have then you are aware of Rune, once Finn’s Beta and now a traitor. Rune has never believed in the mating process, too many women have died by picking the wrong mate chosen for them and too many dragons are without mates of their own so something is terribly wrong and he is fighting for changes. When Aiden and Sera finally begin to realize that they belong together there is no hope for them and if it wasn’t for Rune, Sera would face definite death mating the High King. There is also the fact that she has a child something that no other dragon mate has had before.

Aiden and Sera have a huge fight ahead of them but who will come to their aid? Blake is the most adorable little boy who on finding out that all the men he knows are dragons can’t contain himself, his joy is written all over his face and the first thing he wants is for each man to shift and then one of them to take him flying, Sera approves of the shift but the flying, well that is a great big no.

There were a lot of surprises and a lot of wrongs righted. Another dragon mating could happen but it would be going against the Mating Council, it has been done before but will it happen this time. If you loved the first two books then I don’t have to convince you that you will love this one as well and if you have not started this series then I highly recommend doing so.
