Nahla Gregory is a witch on the run from a bad domestic situation. Tomas Castillo, a warlock, has a prepared safe haven for her, while dealing with his own problem, his neutered magickal powers. He’s sworn to protect her and to keep his hands off her, but Nahla is downright tempting. Danger is coming for them and combining their powers may be the only way to survive the storm.

Can Tomas keep Nahla safe, as promised, while she helps him rediscover his long forgotten magick?

Nahla Gregory is a witch who picked the worst warlock to love. Sebastian Caldecott is possessive and jealous and although he hasn’t come right out and hit her he has done enough to leave her at the breaking point. As far as he is concerned she belongs to him and to him only. When she discovers she is pregnant they marry and she realizes what a mistake she made because the idea of bringing a child into a life with Sebastian is something she can’t and won’t allow.

With her mother’s help she finds a hidden network that assists witches who find themselves in dangerous situations and her situation definitely fits the bill. The first place she is sent isn’t as safe as she hoped because she sees that Sebastian is near to finding her. The second place in Catnip, Vermont is hopefully where she can remain until the birth of her child.

Tomas Castillo is a warlord with no powers and it is his job to protect Nahla, a job he takes very seriously since he finds himself falling in love with her. A secret about Sebastian’s past is revealed and it is not something I will reveal in this review, but it was a doozy.

While Tomas and Nahla find comfort in each other and while she works at getting his magic unlocked Sebastian is hot on her trail. Tomas’ magic was lost due to trauma and that is something else I won’t reveal.

Romance, sex, violence, vampires and magic just enough to tempt any paranormal romance lovers interest, it did mine. We are in a time where we could definitely use some magic but unfortunately the only magic is in the words we read.
