This was a beautiful love story between an immortal Guardian and a mortal, this is the first in the series and it is Raven and Tayla’s story.

Raven is the leader of a brotherhood of immortal Guardians banished from Heaven and living for centuries with one purpose destroying the Fallen and trying to keep good from being overtaken by evil. Raven was banished because of his loyalty and love for another and it has been centuries of trying to correct what happened.

Raven has been assigned a Chosen,a female mortal created by Fate to fulfill an extraordinary destiny, it is his job to keep her alive until she has fulfilled her path. The Fallen who have fallen from Heaven and reside in Hell would like nothing more than to get his Chosen and bring her to Hell and that is something he refuses to allow to happen on his watch. Unfortunately although there is a bond between a Chosen and their Guardian the bond he feels for Tayla way beyond just keeping her safe, she is all he thinks about and desires and that sometimes keeps him from doing what he is supposed to. Because of his feelings for her he has broken rules which no doubt would result in his Falling and heading to Hell but around Tayla it is as if his brain shuts off and his libido takes charge.

Tayla was attacked and after months of nightmares she has decided to take control of her life leaving her old life behind including the nightmares and the whispers and judging from other people. She finds herself renting a cottage in the same Snowy mountains that the Guardians reside in bringing her closer to her Guardian. Things don’t go smoothly since Raven’s brother Blaine who is a Fallen interfers and leads to Raven revealing himself a total no-no. With no choice Raven is forced to erase Tayla’s memory but Blaine is far from finished with his interference.

Tayla takes a hike that puts her in danger and puts Raven in the position of protecting her. He brings her back to the mansion he and his two brothers Aric and EJ share and once she sees him she is shocked by the attraction she has to him. Like Raven all she wants is to be held and loved by this man she barely knows in spite of the fact that he saved her life when she nearly froze to death in the woods.

Raven fights his need and desire for Tayla but eventually he weakens and gives in to his feelings with Tayla a very happy and willing partner. Fate put Tayla in his life but what price will he have to pay for that. He loves a mortal, a Chosen and he knows that nothing good will come of that but his heart wants what it wants and to hell with what danger it puts him and Tayla in.

I won’t go into too much about what happens with Tayla and Raven, what Fate has in store for the two of them and whether they have a HEA, there are some things you have to discover on your own, but I will say that if you love a good paranormal romance then don’t hesitate to read this one you won’t be sorry.
