Your Desire. A mysterious shop appears in town for one reason: to bring the spice of passion and the thrill of love to one special person. Magic is in more than the item purchased—it’s in the heart of the buyer, often hidden, usually surprising. And after enchantment takes hold ad the fantasy is fulfilled? The store fades from sight and memory, only to reappear somewhere else. Maybe in your town…?

The Artist and the Director
Derica Meadows, the conservative Director of Accounting at a large San Francisco firm, sees the most beautiful dress imaginable in a shop window. So different from her usual genderless pant suits, she’s swept into acquiring the gown for a formal business affair the next night. But a funny thing happens on the way to her party, in the form of a compelling man and a photo shoot. Suddenly, the normally logical Derica finds herself swimming in a sea of romance and sexual freedom she’d never before considered. The hunk of an artist can satisfy her fantasies, but what will happen to her climb up the corporate ladder in the process? And to her heart?

This story is about two separate couples who find love thanks to a magical shop called Your Desire, a shop that brings love in the form of a dress to two women, a shop that then disappears to appear somewhere else where someone is looking for love.

The Artist and the Director

Our first story is about Derica Meadows the Director of Accounting for MiBar Medical. She once again finds herself having to attend a company party and, as always, she will be wearing her basic black pantsuit, that is until she sees a dress in the window of Your Desire, a dress that she feels she must have. The dress is one of a kind and the owner Nigel Brown offers to rent it to her for $200 a deal she grabs.

Wearing this magical gown, she goes to the party only to be waylaid in the lobby by a man insisting that she is late and that she is the model they hired for a campaign. Despite her constantly telling them they are wrong she finally poses when she lays eyes on the male model she will be working with.

Kailen is an artist, a model, and a courier and very happy with his life but Derica makes his blood rise and after the shoot and after escorting her to her company party they wind up back at her place where the sex is hot, hot, hot. Did I mention that the sex is hot? When Kailen disappears Derica is consumed with memories of him and goes looking for him and once again they can’t keep their hands off one another. Both know that their lifestyles are not compatible, but their bodies are as compatible as can be when they are together.

Bringing him to a picnic at her boss’s home, something happens that will change their lives forever, something I will not reveal. I loved this story and the one that followed.

Awards Night:

Allison Hayes is going to attend her high school reunion something she dreads especially when she finds out the theme is retro. An accident when she was young caused her to limp and left her scarred and she is convinced that the only ones that could ever find her pretty are the ones who love her. Now she must find a dress and of course she winds up in Your Desire buying a dress that is horrendous, plaid and taffeta and with so much fabric that you can hear her coming from a mile away, but Nigel convinces her that it is the dress she needs, and she will be beautiful.

Unfortunately, her first thoughts about the dress are true when everyone at the reunion keeps staring at her, so embarrassed and feeling insecure she leaves the party early. Nearing her house, she discovers a car that crashed through her fence and ruined her tree and a man lying on the ground who appears uninjured. The man has no surface injuries other than the fact that he can’t see.

Frank Huges is not an ordinary man and although at first sight Allison knows that, there is so much more she is unaware of. Frank is not a man who takes easily to having anyone care for him or giving up his independence but blind he has no other choice but to embrace the help that Allison is offering. Every time he hears her dress rustling when she walks he knows exactly where she is and he feels safe. Staying with her all his senses come alive, his scent, his hearing and sense that Allison is someone he can totally trust. While he is there they both reach out to each other for comfort and the next day his people arrive, and he is gone.

Can a woman who limps and is scarred have a long-time relationship with a man who always seeks perfection in himself and everyone around him.

I loved this book, each story was beautiful, romantic, and filled with very hot sex. In both cases each couple discovered that it isn’t the career one has, the money or the differences in their lives it is what is in the heart.
