Isabella is a water elemental who saved her sister Angelica from falling into the hands of Quinton Palmer, the Captain of the Fiery Damsel. Angelica is pregnant with Ronan’s child and it is the child’s blood and soul that Zuto the demon wants, but he failed to get what he wanted because of Isabella.

Now it is Isabella who is a prisoner on Palmer’s ship and Zuto is determined to get what he wants and Isabella is to mate and become pregnant with Leif Black’s baby something she is unwilling to do. Leif is a pirate onboard the Fiery Damsel and he is drawn to Isabella but he has spent his life since his parent’s death looking after his twin sisters who noone knows about. Unfortunately, Zuto is not a demon to take no for an answer and when he forces Isabella to drink a poison she has to make a decision, mate with Leif or die.

Isabella is the daughter of the King of the Undines Eldric, and she is the one her father always blamed for their mother’s death at the hands of pirates. Even after learning that his new wife Charybdis was the one to lead his wife to her death he still closed his heart to Isabella. Now not only is Zuto after an Undine childs blood and soul so is Charybdis. Eldric had changed her into a monster and now she wants revenge and she wants the crown. The blood of an unborn Undine baby would ensure her success.

Isabella and Leif are drawn together and he is unwilling to impregnate her and when they finally mate he pulls out. He saves Isabella from the poison but is there some other magical ingredient that would make his pulling out meaningless? In the meantime Leif suddenly finds himself not only a vampire pirate but a dragon. He does everything in his power to put a stop to Zuto and protect Isabella and even with the help of the crew from the Soaring Phoenix there may be nothing he can do.

This is the fifth book in an amazing series and each one is filled with sex, excitement and violence and although they can be read individually I highly recommend reading them in order so you don’t miss out on anything. Although the book does not end in a cliffhanger there is no doubt that there is more coming and I can’t wait to see whose story is next. Vampire pirates, curses, witches, demons and dragons what is not to love about this series?
