His biggest mistake…
Two centuries ago, Angel Daniel Grigori, laid eyes on a mortal woman that would change his life forever. That chance encounter was all it took for him to lose his heart to the clairvoyant, but angels did not mix with humans. Instead, he vowed to watch over her from afar, to protect her, to keep her safe. He failed.
His greatest regret…
Having interfered with the natural order, Daniel had accepted his punishment as his due, but when he returned to the earthly realm to discover what had become of his precious Emmaline, he learned that playing with fate had consequences to more than just himself.
Insurmountable odds…
Emmaline Waters had been born with the gift of second sight, a gift that continued to grow as she aged. Thanks to her immortality, those gifts have now become a painful curse. No longer able to bear touch, she is isolated and desperate for release. An angel was the cause and only an angel would be the cure. Two centuries of searching and she’d finally found him. Too bad the one thing she wanted was the one thing he could never give.
As the residents of Greenlawn Hall prepare for the inevitable confrontation with the Born, can they find a way to help one of their own without making the ultimate sacrifice?

This is a series that has to be read in order even though none of the books end in a cliffhanger. This series covers the lives of residents of Greenlawn Hall, shifters, witches and vampires and they are a family with each new book covering a new couple but involving everyone else in the story. So I strongly suggest beginning with book one Tea with Monsters.

This story is about Emmaline Waters the owner of Greenlawn Hall and who was born with second sight. Two centuries ago an angel, Daniel Grigori heard her sing and vowed to always watch over her and when she was attacked by Jules Kincaid a werewolf he inadvertently saved her life and made her and Jules immortal. Jules has already had his own book and if you have read it you know what happened and if you didn’t I don’t want to give anything away. You also know how much he hated being immortal and you know when that changed for him. Unfortunately Emma’s powers have grown stronger and stronger over the centuries to the point where she can no longer touch anyone without wearing gloves. Her only hope is for her angel to return and fix whatever it was he did.

Daniel had no idea how he changed Jules and Emma into immortals and he spent a century in hell paying dearly for what he did now he is back never realizing what saving Emma’s life cost her. Living a life without the touch of someone who loves you, without so much as a kiss or embrace and having a touch cause excessive pain mixed with horrible visions has made Emma a recluse. She loves all the people who live with her but longs to be able to touch them. Unfortunately Daniel cannot make her mortal again without killing her or getting help from Bath an angel who can hopefully give her the ability to at least be able to touch.

It was quite by accident that Emma was touched by Daniel with no side effects and now she longs for his kisses and much, much more. She wants whatever she can get because there is no doubt that her powers are getting stronger and how soon before she can’t even be touched by him. Daniel keeps calling out to his brethren who have locked him out hoping that Bath will finally answer but so far with no success.

All the characters that we have grown to know and love are featured and everyone so far has found their other half even hopefully Emma and Daniel but trouble is coming in the form of the Born who have decided to take action against Thane for turning Margot, a witch. It will take everything they have to stop the power of the born who are coming in huge numbers.

There is only one thing I can say and that is that I love, love, love this series and read this book in one day. There is such a mix of characters and they are different in personalities and in species but I loved them all and I can’t wait for more.
