Tatiana Baker has had one too many bad relationships and all she wants is to meet the perfect man but so far the perfect man is only in her dreams. When her car is hit on the driver’s side she is saved by a handsome stranger, a stranger that seems all to familiar to her. After rescuing her and getting her out of the car he disappears. All the emergency people who came to her aid were amazed that she was alive and barely hurt because the accident was one that would have been fatal.
Tatiana has always been insecure because of her weight and height but when Jasper saw her and saved her all he saw was her inner beauty and he knew immediately that she was his mate. Jasper is a guardian angel working for the Guardian League but in spite of the fact that Tatiana is human and he is an angel he wants her. He knows that he will have to win her over by taking his time but he is willing to do whatever he has to to get her to spend eternity with him.
When Tatiana once again meets Jasper she finds it hard to believe that he would want her when there are so many beautiful, skinny girls to pick from but he seems to only have eyes for her. Even when her best friend Dee tries to seduce Jasper, with Tatiana’s blessing, he still won’t be swayed, Tatiana is the one he loves and wants and no other woman comes close to her beauty in his eyes.
I loved Jasper but Tatiana’s wishy washy attitude left me disliking her. No matter how hard Jasper tried she would not accept what he offers and even went as far as breaking up with him which left her heartbroken. I find it hard to understand how breaking up with Jasper and feeling the pain of his lose is better than being with him and risking him leaving, either way the pain is the same.
When Jasper is summoned to the Council he is given an ultimatum one that is a loser no matter which one he takes. His sole purpose is to be with the woman he loves, a woman who just can’t leave her insecurities behind her. The book also lacked any kind of suspense and focused only on whether Tatiana and Jasper would finally be together. There was little about the Guardian League although that is what the series is about but hopefully the next book will focus more on them.
After saying what I did I will say that I gave this book three stars because I loved Jasper more than I disliked Tatiana.
