I must give credit to the Dreamspinner Publishing House. In the slow times where your authors need sales, working feverishly against the biggie like amazon, they have come up with different concepts to get people interested in reading again. I as a reader looove a 500 page book, but I am not the reader they are reaching for. Novellas are not new, but using a bunch of them to make a series. Well now even a busy non- reader’s interest might be sparked.

Brandon Witt, has jumped on this idea with mucho gusto using Hamburger Mary’s a charming eatery catering to the LGBTQ community, as a back drop for his stories. They are fun, sexy, quick reads that have so far ended in an HEA.

This novella at 135 pages also gives us a message about how this community takes care of its own and the gay bashing still continuing to exist in 2017. Ariel Merman is a drag queen, The long hair, the stiletto’s the long fake lashes. But under that façade is a beautiful young man actually named Zachery Cooper, who is caught one night on his way home by three men and beaten to a bloody pulp.

It is at the hospital, that night he is treated by Dr. Teegan Chou and they will never be the same again. I love the story and groan they are sooo short. (Remember I like Big Books) but in-between the biggies this is a perfect fix.
