Sebastian Severino is a jaquar shifter and the heir apparent to the Nero Organization an evil organization run by his evil father. Sebastian has only disobeyed his father’s orders twice, one when he refused to bring in his half-sister Lana and her daughter Madeleine. Lana and Madeleine are jaquar shifters without being bitten a product of one of Sebastian’s father’s experiments. The second time he disobeyed was when he refused to reveal the location of Solomon Wood’s two daughters, Raven and Isabelle who he promised Solomon he would look after.
Now Sebastian has been sent on a new mission to the Sedona Pack only he is attacked by a female wolf, Isabelle Wood. Isabelle is ready to kill her enemy but her wolf refuses to allow her to do so, as luck would have it her enemy is also her mate. In spite of the fact that Isabelle vermently disagrees with her wolf the wolf won’t allow any harm to come to Sebastian and Isabelle refuses to accept the fact that she also refuses to let him be harmed.
While Sebastian was healing from the knife wound inflicted by Isabelle he learned that his father had kidnapped his granddaughter Madeleine. The one thing that his father always instilled in him was that family always came first and Sebastian has no intention of allowing his father to keep his niece. He also realizes that he is now expendable because his father finally has the person he wants to lead the organization when he steps down.
With help from Isabelle and Lana’s mate and Alpha of the Reno pack Adam, Sebastian prepares to enter the Nero Organization and bring along Isabelle and Adam two wolf shifters. Sebastian and Isabelle grow closer and closer and for the first time in his life he is willng to give his life for someone else. Before Solomon Wood died he gave a letter to Sebastian from Isabelle’s mother a powerful psychic in which she told him that her daughter would be his salvation, but he doubts that he can find salvation.
With a plan all set for the release of his niece he enters Nero only his father is one step ahead of him. Can he save the woman he loves, his niece and his sister’s husband? He met Madeleine in the cell she was being held in and it was instant love on his part. This little four year old trusted him and accepted he was her uncle and would bring her home. Of course, a rescue meets all kinds of opposition and whether they are successful or not I leave for you to find out.
I loved this series and although each book is a standalone and can be read separately I can’t imagine why anyone would want to do that. Each book is wonderful and shouldn’t be missed. Now that I told you how much I loved this series I have to admit to the one thing I hate, THIS IS THE LAST BOOK IN THE SERIES, but there are many more Lisa Kessler books worth your time and money.
