New Year’s Eve is a time for travel plans, nerves of steel, and secrets…

Excitement and anxiety envelop Winifred and Leo as they prepare for their first trip together—New Year’s Eve in New York City. For Fred, whose fondest pastime is curling up by the fire with a well-loved book, figuring out what clothes to pack is a challenge, but nothing compared to the emotional knot and turmoil of leaving her cherished corgi sidekick, Watson.

It is more than Fred’s nerves, however, or Watson’s grumpy mood, that threaten the trip. When Fred receives a text from Leo about a meeting at Madame Delilah’s Old Tyme Photography, a quick errand leads to an unexpected mystery. And soon more than travel plans are in danger.

In Estes Park, gossip and rumors circulate, and Fred finds support not just among friends and family, but from an unlikely cast of allies. Midnight celebrations and resolutions are the farthest thoughts from Fred’s mind as New Year’s Eve draws closer.

And as deceptions and secrets are laid out in picture-perfect clarity for the whole world to see, Fred and Watson face a fight for survival…

(This culinary cozy mystery includes a recipe for indulgent croque monsieur biscuits.)

This is the 16th book in the series and I’ve noted #17 is already in the works. Can you tell the readers along with myself are binging?

Mildred Abbott has taken us on a long winding road, and answers have finally culminated in Phony Photos that we have been waiting to be revealed. It is Christmas time in Estes and Fred and Leo are finally taking their long-awaited trip. They are packing and leaving that evening for a New Year’s weekend in NYC and Watson, an unhappy camper as he sees the suitcase, is being dropped off at Fred’s family.

Fred receives a text from Leo that he needs to stop at his friend Delilah’s at the Old Tyme Photography Shoppe and then pick her up. Then the unimaginable happens!!!

The reader is drawn into one of the most harrowing mysteries ever. I cannot spoil this for anyone! But fans of this series finally got some long waited for answers as Fred and the gang searched for Leo.

Great story!!!
