The media love us.
Vampires hate us.
And Slayers, Inc. will do anything to take us down.

Gabriel Kral the eldest of three sons and is the heir to the Syndicate Prius. Gabriel is a dhampir like his brothers, Rafael and Zaquiel half human and half vampire and they are all rich, rich, rich and hot, hot, hot but in spite of that they are hated by vampires and Slayers, Inc. all of whom want them destroyed.

Gabriel has everything except the one thing he lost three years ago, the love of his long life, Camila (Mila) Vittore. For three years he has longed for her ever since the day he found a note saying goodbye. He wanted to blood bond with her and did his half and then mate with her but she ran and is still running.

Mila left the man she loves and has regretted it ever since but for three years she has lived in roach motels and has been pursued by syndicate vampires who want her dead. Her long run comes to an end in a grocery store and she is being returned to Syndicate headquarters leaving her scared and excited both, because seeing Gabriel is all she has dreamed about. Unfortunately it is not Gabriel she is brought to but a vampire who has every intention of using her as bait to get to Gabriel and kill him. Refusing is not an option since they are holding her younger brother Joey prisoner with the promise of turning him into a blood slave.

When Gabriel sees Mila after all those years he is delighted but mistrusting, he is sure that her appearance is not innocent and that there is something going on she refuses to divulge. As hard as he tries to stay away from her and use the lessons his father instilled in him all his life about resistance, his love for her overrides everything. It would be so easy if he could read her but she is one of the few that are unreadable and using compulsion is something he promised her he would never do.

Needless to say there is a lot going on in this book, one brother has been kidnapped and one brother is out looking for the one responsible. Gabriel is fighting with himself to give Mila her freedom after she accepts his blood bond and she is fighting to keep the secret of her brother’s disappearance for fear if they discover she told her brother would be gone forever. Even if Gabriel and Mila got together she is human and a liability putting him in constant danger from their enemies, he wants her safe and she wants him no matter what.

Gabriel and Mila’s story has a conclusion which leads to the next brother’s story and I for one can’t wait. The love between Gabriel and Mila is all encompassing each wanting what is best for the other while knowing without each other their lives would be empty. I can’t recommend this book highly enough for anyone who loves vampire books as much as me because this one had it all.
