Tormented by the fate she condemned her mother to, and by the lies she’s forced to tell to cover it up, Adele scours Storm-ravaged New Orleans for the truth about her family’s magical past. But every turn leads her back to the one person she’s determined to forget: the vampire Niccolò Medici. Not even the bewitched locks trapping him can break their connection.

Sensing Niccolò calling to Adele, Isaac tries relentlessly to keep her from exploring paths that would endanger them all. But a new threat is rising in New Orleans…an older enemy that will bring Isaac’s haunted past to life, test the witches’ friendships, and jeopardize Adele and Isaac’s blossoming relationship.

In this spellbinding continuation of The Casquette Girls saga, Adele delves into seventeenth-century Florence—a time bubbling with alchemy and fraternal betrayal. As she uncovers long-buried secrets, sorting history from fantasy will be her only hope of saving her mother, her coven, and her magic.

This book picks up exactly where the first left off. The immense details continue to pull the reader directly into the story, feeling as if you are really there. The beginning is a little slow, but it picks up quickly. Each character brings such depth and uniqueness to the novel. This makes the reader feel invested in the characters and the outcome of these events. I did find myself occasionally confused at which POV I was reading from. Though, once a few lines passed, it was easy to determine. The Romeo Catchers leaves the reader feeling a wide array of emotions, craving the next addition in the series. If you look for a paranormal fantasy that brings along with it great, unexpected plot twists to a fantastic story…this is the one for you.
