For Maiden Voyage guitarist, Ryder Hampton, life is great. He and his bandmates are embarking upon an epic European double headlining tour with their friends from Social Sinners with the band Embrace the Fear opening for them.

Since joining Maiden Voyage in his twenties, Ryder’s life has been a whirlwind of the cliched, “Sex, drugs and monumental doses of Rock ‘n Roll. And he’s loved every minute of it from the sold out shows to the revolving door of bed partners.

Max Hightower has always been a team player. Whether it was working with his team in the Marines or now with the private security company, Ventura Security. These days, his job was to have the backs of a band of musicians. One band member in particular he'd allowed to get too close and now emotions were involved.

Ryder Hampton had left his mark on Max's closed-off heart and now Max's job was in jeopardy. Falling for your principal wasn't safe – nor smart. Neither was missing the mark on protecting him and now Max was guilty of both. The security detail he'd begged his boss for had turned out to be the one that could ruin him and shatter his heart too. Max couldn't allow either option to happen.

Maiden Voyage series must be read in order as each book starts where the last one ended but is from another band members point of view:

Rockers and their bodyguards should be all you need to want to read this book but I will give you more information to whet your whistle.

Ryder Hampton is the lead guitarist of a very popular rock band, Maiden Voyage, but his trip to success started out as low as a young man could go. A mother who was more interested in the next man rather than whether her son ate or not. Juvie, dropping out of school until a man at a music shop helped him. Ryder loved his guitar, it was a part of him and when Derek the lead singer of the new group Maiden Voyage heard him it was the end of the bad times and beginning of the good times.

Maiden Voyage is about to start a European tour and each member of the band had their very own bodyguard and Ryder’s was Max Hightower. The chemistry between Max and Ryder was obvious to everyone but Max had a job to do and it did not include having a personal relationship with his principal (the one he was in charge of guarding). Ryder did not make Max’s job easy when he was constantly trying to entice him but there was just so much Max could take before he finally did something about it.

Unfortunately he was found out by his boss Fizzbo who immediately put him in charge of another band member putting him out of reach of Ryder. Ryder was not willing to let that stop him and he actually decided to jump from balcony to balcony at their hotel to get to Max, and get to him, he did.

There have been threatening letters, emails and calls all of them apparently aimed at Ryder so security was very tight. Even as Max watched over another band member he couldn’t keep from watching over Ryder as well. From early childhood Ryder never believed that anyone could love him or want to stay with him and as his feelings for Max grow he is convinced that it will just lead to heartache. He has no idea that Max is feeling the same way.

If you love rock n roll, if you love sexy bodyguards then I would run not walk to get this book. Celebrity is wonderful but filled with danger from the fans that supposedly love you and this book shows just how scary it can be. This is the first book in the series and the series should be read in order because the next book picks up where the previous book ends but I do not mean to suggest that it is a cliffhanger because it isn’t.

Wonderful characters and I mean characters in every sense of the word, sex, lots and lots of sex and some heartache.
