I became enamored of AJ Rose when I read her Power Exchange Series. I do admit having one or two others on my Kindle waiting for me, but as I follow this author, and it is soooo close to Halloween, I couldn’t resist !!! Ghosts?????Haunted House???? AND a love story????
Merrick and Trevor are sharing a house. They have known each other since they were young children and have been best friends. Somewhere along their path, Trevor realizes, Merrick is the ONE. Like most friends the fear of losing a friendship rather than outing his feelings, Trevor has kept quiet for years watching Merrick go from one relationship to another.
Trevor’s bestie Tempest, has heard this all over and over, always trying to get Trevor to man up to no avail. The friendship between these two is fun for the reader. Her boyfriend Dave rounds out the group and is truly into Tempest.
Ms Rose surprised me writing this story in a very British POV which I found refreshing and actually learned some words for things I didn’t know before. The friends to lovers plot was slow and steady and not overdone.
The background of the Haunting was the best. I found our author slowly, very slowly letting us in on noises, door handles jiggling, anything that could be explained away until our people really were in dire trouble. The House needs them, so it can destroy them!!!!
Cannot complain, I got what I came for….a very well written spooky story with some heart stopping moments, some tears and lots and lots of lovely sexy moments. 5 Stars
