Some stones are better left unturned…

John Starkweather feels restless. Though still technically an agent for SPECTR, his only job now seems to be hanging out with his boyfriends, Caleb and the vampire spirit Gray, and binge-watching TV in their New Orleans apartment.

The inactivity comes to an abrupt end when a rougarou attacks John’s estranged grandfather. Even though he hasn’t seen his family since he was a teen, John can’t pass up the opportunity to reconnect.

The more John investigates the attack, the stranger everything about it seems, from his parents’ odd behavior to the rougarou’s unnatural size. And the closer John comes to finding answers, the nearer he draws to a truth that might be better left uncovered.

I didn’t realize until now that I read everything Jordan Hawk writes…..Everything. But I think of All the books I read every year…….. and that is hundreds…..when I see this series come up for pre-order I really get excited…..It is an all time fav.

We begin here with the aftermath of the finale of Series 2. John Starkweather is still a member of SPECTR, with no real job to do other than to keep tabs on Caleb and Gray. Our guys have been squirreled away in an apartment in New Orleans…..watching TV…..hanging out……getting restless.

We never really delved into John Starkweather. In this book we learn more about John, his parents, his family, his pain. Caleb and Gray have their hands full….when a rougarou attacks John’s grandfather; which opens up a BIG kettle of worms. Having to keep Caleb and Gray hidden, and trying to see if his parents will now accept him, it is painful to see tough John being hurt this way.

Caleb, John and Gray are still sexy as hell together and Ms Hawk gives us those moments to keep us from shrieking thru the gore…..I just adore this series and when it is the end….I always want M.O.R.E….Great addition.
