Emesh, the god of summer, couldn’t be more astounded. While his twelve Immortal friends frantically search for their remaining Chosen…female Chosen, he’s always assumed his chances of finding his eternal mate were crap. Despite being thousands of years old, he’s never experienced a gay relationship, doesn’t know where to look for one or how to initiate a hook-up. But now, standing no more than seven yards away, is proof positive he’ll soon receive an education in every nuance of male love he’s ever imagined…and it scares him shitless. Douglas Wingfeather never allows visitors. Never. He’s the master of one-night stands, and likes it that way. So what the hell does he want with this guy, Emesh? The answer can only be…nothing. Strange attraction or not, his libido needs to shut itself down. His screwed up past doesn’t allow room for a normal relationship. End of story.

Another book and another god looking for his Chosen, this time it is Emesh the God of Summer. If you have been reading the series then you know all about the curse and the limited amount of time the still unmated gods have till they are returned to hell. If you haven’t been reading this series then this is the perfect time to start.

Emesh and his twin brother Enten are out searching for Enten’s wife Glory’s mother who has left the compound in search of her son Douglas. Glory’s mom Kate suffers from Alzheimers and has been telling everyone that her son Douglas who everyone believes is dead is still alive and she needs to find him, getting no satisfaction from the gods or her daughter she sets out on her own and Emesh and Enten have got to find her before something happens to her.

Surprise, surprise Kate was right Douglas is alive and when they find him Emesh suddenly is corporeal, he has found his Chosen. Emesh never thought he would find the one for him since he is gay but there he is standing in front of them. Now the three men are determined to find Kate and bring her home and Emesh is determined to get Douglas to like him before he reveals all his secrets.

Douglas was commited to a psychiatric hospital by his brutal father and then became a patient of a brutal doctor, Dr. Trask. While under Trask’s care he was tortured and drugged and only when Trask was fired and a new doctor took over did he return to a normal state. It was this doctor that arranged for Douglas’ fake death. Nightmares of his time at the hospital still plague Douglas and Emesh has to do everything in his power to get him to become his mate.

Time is running out for the gods and Emesh has to convince Douglas that they belong together and there are still unmated gods who need to find their Chosen. If any of the gods are unmated then they all will be returned to hell leaving behind their wives and children something the wives are not willing to accept. Strong women who have a plan that will keep them with their husbands, a plan that is not going to go over very well with their stubborn husbands, but only time will tell what happens to the gods and their wives.

There is explicit sex, rape and torture but also love and amazing characters that make up for the bad. Beletseri and Matthew are not present in this book but that doesn’t mean there won’t be trouble and that trouble is Dr. Trask who is determined to get Douglas back now that he knows he is alive and who is no mere human.

If you haven’t started this series yet then I highly recommend you start I am sure you will love it as much as I do.
