After tragedy strikes, Callie Sinclair is left with a gift she never wanted—the ability to communicate with ghosts. But when a desperate widow begs for her help, she reluctantly agrees to investigate the strange occurrences at Hillwood Farm. She quickly realizes she’s dealing with a dangerous presence beyond anything she’s ever experienced, and something else becomes equally clear—the only other living person in the house, Mrs. Turner’s handsome grandson, thinks she’s a scam artist. While she’d prefer to just ignore him, her heart beats a little faster every time he’s nearby.

Luke Turner doesn’t believe in spirits. He’s moved back to restore the family farm, but living on the property serves a dual purpose—he can watch out for his grandmother. He’s not happy about the sudden appearance of a self-described psychic, or his inexplicable attraction to her. His initial suspicions crumble as evidence points to an actual haunting, but he’s still determined not to fall for Callie—the past has taught him it’s best to avoid relationships.

As Callie is drawn deeper into the mystery, she becomes the target of a vengeful spirit, and Luke can no longer fight his feelings for her. Unable to resist their desire, passion ignites…even as the paranormal activity escalates to a final deadly confrontation.

Callie Sinclair has had a lot of loss in her life and an accident left her with a gift she did not want, she can communicate with ghosts. When seventy-three year old Alice Turner newly widowed asks for her help she agrees to come to Hillwood Farms and see what is happening. Things are moved, things are broken, draws that were closed are now open and Alice is afraid that if there is not a spirit responsible she might be suffering from dementia. It has only been a few short months since her husband Henry died and she hopes he is trying to communicate with her.

As soon as Callie steps into the house she feels something and hears “danger” and she has no intention of leaving until she finds out if Alice is in trouble. Living with Alice is her grandson Luke who since his grandfather’s death has moved in with her and is in the process of building his own house on the property. The farm has been in the Turner family for centuries and Luke is determined to keep the farm in the family. In spite of Luke’s refusal to believe in ghosts and his assumption that Callie is just looking to take his grandmother for whatever money she can get Callie is steadfast in her determination to help Alice.

It doesn’t take long before even Luke has to believe that something is going on and whoever is haunting the farm is dangerous. The ghost even begins to visit Callie in her own home and is trying to put an end to her life. Callie spends a lot of time at the farm trying to get a read on what the spirit wants and who it is and can sense that Henry, Alice’s late husband is trying to help. In time Callie and Luke begin to have feelings for each other but they both have had past relationships that cause them both to be leery. Callie lost the love of her life and Luke was involved with a girl named Blair who was mentally unstable and dangerous.

This was a great ghost story filled with edge of the seat suspense, romance and two people who have to put aside the past and learn to live for the future. If you love a good paranormal, suspenseful ghost story than you will love this one.
